Submissions

Samuel Lamanite Editions plans to publish 2 to 4 titles each year.

Authors interested in submitting manuscripts for consideration should first send a query letter, including a 1 page overview of their work, a 1-2 page outline or table of contents and a description of the target audience for the work. Do NOT send manuscripts unless requested! Unsolicited manuscripts will either be rejected prior to receipt (when the delivery service allows) or discarded unread.

Queries may also be sent through e-mail. Queries sent by e-mail must be in plain text (no formatting) in the body of the message. Please do not send your query as an attachment. Attachments are not opened due to e-mail viruses.

Queries should be limited to the type of works that Samuel Lamanite Editions publishes. This is, works of either fiction or non-fiction originally written in Spanish or Portuguese.

Translations
The focus of Samuel Lamanite Editions is on works originally written in Spanish or Portuguese, as we believe these works are of the most benefit to Spanish and Portuguese-speaking LDS Church members. As a result, we give preference to these works over those translated from English. In general, we avoid paying for translations from English to Spanish or Portuguese. However, we are interested in translations of works from Spanish or Portuguese into English.
